I was curious, and curiousity killed me. I spent a bit doing research and finding out who exactly did Dante's three different voices. Capcom never really seemed to make up their mind and stay consistant. So here are the three [different] guys that got suckered into it. |
In the first Devil May Cry, Dante was voiced by Drew Coombs.
There was no Japanese voice. In both the English and Japanese versions, he was voiced by the same person. Drew Coombs appeared in White Lies and I'll Be Home For Christmas. He made many other appearances in television shows such as Animorphs and Mutant X. Drew Coombs also voiced Dante in Viewtiful Joe. (The line "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light" still manages to crack me up everytime I think of it). |
| As a side note, Jonathan Mallen was the voice of both young Dante and young Vergil in the flashback that took place after Nero Angelo's fall. |
This man has been everywhere. He voiced Dante in Devil May Cry 2, the cooler, calmer version of Dante. He voiced a soldier in Metal Gear Solid 3, along with other debuts in Psychonauts, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Dead to Rights and Everquest II. His television appearances include CSI, Commander in Chief, 24, 7th Heaven, Charmed, The Practice, Beverly Hills, 90210, Saved By the Bell, Friends and Touched By An Angel. Once again the English version of DMC is universal, and there are no Japanese voice actors. |
This was definitely the most amusing of the three. Langdon is most known for his acting on Power Rangers Time Force: Photo Finish, it seems. Although he has done a few other television series. He did voice overs in a lot of other asian films, including Versus. |
